We are looking for a full-time paid Research Assistant to work 40 hours per week for about 2 years on a NIH-funded study of parent-adolescent interactions, adolescent emotion-related brain function, and how these relate to adolescents’ substance use, psychopathology, and risk behaviors over a 3 year longitudinal follow-up. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent college graduate (or masters’ student) to gain research experience before applying to graduate school in Clinical Psychology, Developmental Psychology, or Neuroscience!
Research Assistant duties would include: 1. Recruiting, scheduling and tracking study families 2. Conducting study sessions with parents and adolescents, including collecting measurements of emotional, peripheral physiological, and neural responses, and collecting questionnaire and interview data. 3. Data entry and database organization. We prefer to hire a RA with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related field and with experience working on research studies. Study sessions are held in the late afternoon and weekends, so potential RAs would need to be able to work from 11am to 7pm on weekdays and occasional weekend times.
