I’m currently working on a new project for JBS evaluating the Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (RCORP) and we are eagerly seeking new staff to join our team. They’d be working with me directly and would get to be on the forefront of a high-impact program addressing the opioid epidemic!
We are open to REMOTE employees and are hiring up to FOUR! new full-time staff to join the project including a: -Research Assistant (bachelors degree required, 2+ years of experience – this position is not fully remote so they MUST be in the DC or Philadelphia, PA area) -We have another full-time position that has not yet been posted, but would also be at the research associate I level (similar qualifications as above) and would be on-site in North Bethesda, MD jointly working on evaluations of the National Center on Early Childhood Health and Wellness and the Opioid State Targeted Response grant program. Please pass this along to anyone that you think might be a good fit. Also, don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions. I’d be happy to chat more about the project and about working at JBS International. Rebecca S. Fraizer, PhD [email protected]

We need personal attendants to work with our 12-year old daughter who has a Medicaid Waiver due to a genetic condition, galactosemia. She is ambulatory, but she needs help with dressing (buttons and zippers), bathing and toileting (occasionally) due to fine and gross motor issues. Light cooking or cleaning may be involved, but only as it relates directly to her and teaching her. Occasional transportation to appointments may be needed. We want patient individuals who are willing to instruct our daughter in tasks such as tying her shoes, buttoning clothes or zipping and unzipping. Also, to play interactive games that facilitate reciprocal conversation. Our daughter is a very sweet, shy girl who also has a diagnosis of Other Specified Anxiety Disorder. She is fun with an interesting personality.
Hours are flexible. She is qualified for 30 hours per week, plus respite hours when needed, at the state mandated rate of $12.17 per hour. The number of hours probably require more than one attendant to work with our daughter on different schedules. Short morning hours available and 4-6 hours in the afternoon. Weekend hours available at times. In Haymarket, Virginia. Please call or text Brian (703-963-1215) or Dilce (703-963-1594) O’Connor after 4pm if interested. Potential employees should exercise due diligence in evaluating potential jobs.*** We have two small children, a boy aged 2 years, 8 months and a girl aged 9 mos. The boy was diagnosed with ASD and we would classify him as a “mild” case. He can feed, talk, walk, dress, etc. He does need help with engaging with speech, transitions, and social interaction. This is where we need some assistance is working with our son.
The baby is neuro-typical and requires normal care (e.g., playing, diapering, feeding, bathing). In terms of duties, working with our son, folding the kids' clothes, light cleaning, cleaning bottles, help with bathing, feeding, taking the kid(s) for walks, and runing errands nearby. We may add to that (e.g., pick up from daycare). We are located near Braddock Rd. and Little River Tpke in Fairfax (Alexandria/Annandale). It’s about 5-6 miles from the Fairfax Campus and transportation is needed. We would not pay mileage to/from the house. However, we would pay for any mileage (at the IRS rate) above the normal one-way commute if, for example, we asked the sitter to pick up at daycare or run an errand. The pay rate would depend on experience and would likely be in the $12-17 range. We are looking to start with one day per week on either Saturday or Sunday afternoon, 3-4 hours and/or for occasional sitting. We do have someone helping us now two evenings/week but her schedule is about to change. We believe she will have to stop working for us in the near future and we wanted someone with skills working with (or wanting to develop skills from school) an ASD child. This means a potential to expand to 1-3 days/week at 3-4 hours/day. We are flexible and can always talk to the student about availability and schedule.
