Trefoil Academy is a completely volunteer-run, themed camp that values creativity and imagination and provides a safe place for its campers to explore and discover their passions without fear of negativity. We offer a wide selection of themed classes in which the lesson plans cover everything from acting on stage, dueling with foam swords, candlemaking, learning survival skills, learning psychology, sociology, and physics, participating in mock courts, and everything in between. Our campers ages vary from 8-17.
Position Summary: Provide and oversee the emotional well-being of campers and staff by assisting individuals to eliminate or replace ineffective (disruptive) or negative behaviors with appropriate and positive actions. Assist with training, supervision, and support of camp staff.
Our ideal candidate is someone with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology or Sociology (or in their third/fourth-year of college studying the previously mentioned). Experience working with children is a must and experience with young adults is a huge bonus. We would prefer to have an onsite social worker, but if that is not possible then we can be flexible and are willing to work with someone off-site. This is an outdoor camp so being comfortable with working outdoors is recommended. We will be staying at a campsite with cabins and mattresses so sleeping in a tent is not required.
This position is perfect for someone that enjoys working with children and is looking for fun new experiences while getting on-the-job training and growth in your field of expertise. This experience is a valuable addition to any resume and an optimal tool for self-promotion for both businesses and people new to their field.
