Leadership and Community Engagement Living Learning Community- Application Due February 2nd1/22/2018 Leadership and Community Engagement (LLC's) are partnerships between academic units/university departments and Housing & Residence Life. Working together, LLCs help students integrate their academic major or interest with their residential experience. In alignment with the Mason Impact and the Patriot Experience, LLCs are an opportunity for students to engage in curricular and co-curricular initiatives that support their academic and personal development, sense of belonging, and connection to their passions and future goals.
Social Action and Integrative Learning (SAIL) hosts the Leadership and Community Engagement LLC. The Leadership and Community Engagement LLC offers students the opportunity to live with like-minded peers interested in exploring social concerns, such as homelessness, youth empowerment and environment conservation, in order to become an active part of solutions through community engagement. Residents examine local and global issues through academic study and activism, with an emphasis on relational leadership, positive change and active citizenship. We are looking for students who are currently living on campus and would be interested in living in a Living Learning Community. It is a mixed level LLC with both first year students and upper-level students allowing for mentorship and guidance. We’ve had several Psychology students in the past as part of the LLC and they lend a unique insight and perspective that is valued and thoughtful. The application deadline for Upper-Level Students is February 2nd. Students can apply through their e-living account.
