Research Assistant Position at the Center for Autism & the Developing Brain/The Sackler Institute for Developmental Psychobiology
The Jones Lab (PI: Rebecca Jones Ph.D.) is currently seeking a full-time research assistant to work on studies examining behavior and neural changes across age in autism versus typical development. The lab is part of the Sackler Institute for Developmental Psychobiology at Weill Cornell Medical College in Manhattan, NY (https://www.sacklerinstitute.org/cornell) and the Center for Autism and the Developing Brain at Weill Cornell Medical College/NY Presbyterian Hospital in White Plains, NY (http://nyp.org/autism/index.html). The lab is particularly interested in using fMRI to study how the brain changes across development in autism as well as using wearable technologies to measure behavior outside of the laboratory. The RA's primary responsibilities include subject recruitment (toddlers, children, adolescents and adults), testing participants with standardized assessments as well as play based assessments, acquiring brain imaging data, managing and analyzing datasets and preparing and maintaining IRB protocols. The RA will be working with individuals with autism some of whom will have limited language abilities. The expected start date for the position is Summer 2017. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who would like to gain research experience prior to attending graduate school. Requirements: Previous research experience, a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Neuroscience or other related fields, excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, experience working with developmental populations (children, adolescents), and statistical experience. Additional highly desired qualifications include experience working with individuals with autism, familiarity with IRB protocol submissions, and neuroimaging experience.
