I have a 20-year old son, Joshua, who has Cerebral Palsy and uses a power wheelchair. He is very friendly, though shy, talkative about favorite subjects (gaming), and excited to meet a new “Buddy.” Joshua was home bound this past year due to medical issues but is now getting out more every day and interested in meeting people close to his own age.
I am looking for a patient, outgoing person who wants to “hang out,” play games, and go for a walk or two. Joshua is always up for going out to get a burger or a sandwich, and maybe even a vanilla milkshake. Hours are flexible; weekdays, early evenings, or weekends all work, but Joshua tires quickly. Times would be in blocks of 2-3 hours, once a week. This too is flexible but a commitment is needed – Joshua has difficulty understanding frequent cancellations. This is private pay, $20/hour and we live only a few miles from campus. No experience necessary, just an open mind, a calm presence, and a willingness to learn and have fun! If interested, please contact me, Jennifer, at 571-243-9195 or [email protected] ***This job advertisement is from an employer not affiliated with or part of George Mason University, and the University is not responsible for the content of the advertisement.
