Students and Alumni,
Planned Systems International, a federal contractor company that supports the U.S. Department of Defense, is looking to hire a cognitive psychologist to support onsite research at Fort Belvoir, VA. Graduates (or near graduates) of GMU’s HFAC and CBN programs are particularly encouraged to apply! John Graybeal and I are both Ph.D. graduates from GMU’s psychology department. Our primary research areas include perception, cognition, mixed reality, and augmented reality. Some of our work supplies data for a psychophysics model designed to predict human performance with sensors and other work entails solving perception (and occasional usability) problems for emerging systems. We are looking for someone who has a curiosity for cognitive science and a strong background in experimental design and quantitative methods (R, Python, Matlab, mixed-effects models). Experience with physiological metrics (fNIRS, eyetracking, EEG) is also helpful because we are hoping to expand into this area of research. This position is full time, includes benefits, and requires a masters or doctorate degree in psychology. All applicants must be eligible to receive a security clearance from the U.S. government, although an existing clearance is not required to begin work. If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity, please contact me! To formally apply for this position, please send a cover letter and resume/CV to me [email protected]. We look forward to hearing from you!
